REGULATORY CONSULTING

To ensure effective compliance oversight, there must be appreciation of the importance and significance of the regulation, without which the value is eroded. GIR has constructed a regulatory consulting process to assist clients with evaluating existing compliance achievements against the principles and objectives of various regulations, including Regulation 28. Using a balanced scorecard approach, each deliverable is measured against the current process and procedure to determine the extent of compliance and non-compliance with the Act(s). This evaluation is considered a “working” document with action points and timelines to meet the full responsibility of the regulations. The consulting document can also be presented to the Regulator, auditors and members of the fund to demonstrate the fund’s commitment to Regulation 28.

API DATA ACCESS

Compliance assessment is dependent on access to accurate and complete data. GIR collates data from over 90% of Collective Investment Schemes in South Africa and developed an API interface that allows multi-fund platforms to instantly confirm compliance, based on a look-through aggregation of the weighted fund selection. No more Intended Maximum Limits (IMLs) restricting investor selections – our API provides instant, direct access to the latest information for investors full exposure investments, switches and rebalancing. When linked to web-based investment application forms and client proposals, the API can also deliver performance against benchmarks (tables, graphs or data), asset allocation (local, foreign, sector and geographic) and risk vs return matrices.
